    You’ve obviously not seen the rates for Paris! It’s not a bike rental scheme. It seems to be geared towards encouraging short trips during the day rather than commuters. Should make a big difference to nipping to the bank/shops/lunch/pub from work.

    No arguments about the coverage though. Hopefully it’ll extend beyond the canals once it takes off.

    They seem to have a system with this. The stations are all within 300m of each other. This is what works, based on their experience elsewhere. I can see that the alternative would be to spread it out, and that would dilute the whole thing.

    They obviously don’t want you to rent the bike overnight. If you do, then the bike most likely won’t be available again for the peak the following morning.
