: I should do this on my hosts
(tags: ssh server security opie otp skey one-time-passwords ubuntu linux sshd)
: torrent automation from RSS feeds; will work nicely with Transmission
(tags: bittorrent automation boxee linux python rss torrents tv flexget)
FlexGet and transmission are a great combination. You might find this helper script useful as well.
It’s always been unclear to me if OPIE challenge-response authentication interoperates with public/private key-based authentication. ‘cos a scheme where an attacker must steal a key, a passphrase, and get an OPIE password right would rock. If using OPIE means I’ve got to turn off the key-based authentication, or that it’ll let in people who don’t have keys but only a valid OPIE password, well, that doesn’t seem so neat.
gray: thanks, that’s nifty!
Nix: I’m not sure, but I think by default it’ll allow people with a key in, without an OPIE challenge. however it seems to be heavily integrated with PAM, which means it’s configurable, possibly enough to do that.
