    “Borgmon: Similar-ish to Prometheus” until you look at the background of the original prometheus developers. There’s a reason Google SREs find Prometheus’s design and query language very familiar ;)

    Nope, Prometheus came out of SoundCloud. Keep meaning to play with it, but I’m resisting the urge to add it to FreeBSD ports tree first.

    I do need to stop comparing borgmon to open source tools like RRDTool and Nagios though. Used to be a great way to teach borgmon appreciation :)

    The open source tools like rrdtool and nagios are such a shitshow. I don’t know why they’re so bad — I guess the devs are too busy getting paid to do opsy stuff instead of working on the awful UX.
